New Vocabulary Word

Responsibility- Mackenzie has not been doing a great job at picking up her toys and when she does she does not put them back in the right place so she can find them the next time she wants to play with them. So the other day she came to me looking for some toy and I told her that I did not play with it that I did not know where she put it when she picked it up, I told her it was her responsibility to keep track of her toys since they were hers and not mine.
Well RESPONSIBILITY has come back to bit me in the @$$. I was cleaning up and asked Mackenzie to help me pick something up and put it away, well she proceeds to tell me that it is not hers and it is my Responsibility to put my stuff away. I don't think I am ever going to win with her. She keeps outsmarting me and she is only 4 1/2.

Is it Swimming Season Yet!

Mackenzie has been wearing this outfit for 3 weeks or more now. It started out when she was pretending to be Ariel. Now she just likes to wear it. She will wake up some mornings and before we even tell her to get dress she has this outfit on. One day I found her pretending she was laying on the beach with a beach towel and umbrella. She does wear her other clothes but each day she changes into this outfit. Todd comes home from work and he says I see she's in her bathing suit again. One day she did not have on the skirt and Todd was outside and she proceeded to go outside in her bikini, she came back in quickly when her daddy said don't ever come out hear like this again. It was like 60 degrees. So for now we just let her play in her bathing suit and just wait for her to be tired of wearing it. Who know it may never end.

Pumpkin Patch

My girl is getting to big, we have been going to the same pumpkin patch for the past 4 years. I found pictures of the last 2 years of Mackenzie at the pumpkin patch that you can see how big she has gotten just over the last year. She looks so much older just from last year to this year. I can't believe how big she is getting.

BACK EYES

Mackenzie has been doing just the basic kids stuff like jumping off the sofa and pulling on the dog. Stuff that she is not suppose to be doing. She always tells me not to look or she waits until my back is turned to her and she does something. So I usually can see her in the reflection of a window or the microwave. So I told her I saw what she was doing and that I had eyes in the back of my head to see. She believed me because I told her what exactly she was doing. Today she was pulling or as she would say petting the dog. I told her to be gentle with the dog then I walked to the other side of the kitchen with my back to her and she said did you see that with you BACK EYES. I had to tell her no because my hair was over my back eyes. I could not help but laugh.

Quading with Daddy

Todd finally gave a Mackenzie a ride on his quad. He started going really slow since he was scared and did not know how she was going to do and when I say slow I could of ran faster then he was going. They were not even to the house next door and I hear Mackenzie yelling FASTER DADDY FASTER! So he goes a little faster. She loved it and did not want to get off. I don't know how many time they went around the neighborhood. After they were all finished she was already asking when can she go again. Needless to say I think she loved it.

Already September

Well it is already the middle of September and I have not posted in a while. Mackenzie started preschool. She loves it. I don't have any problems getting her out the door. She always wants to be the 1st one at school and when we get to school she tries to be the 1st in the door. I don't know what it is with having to be 1st all the time. I think she gets that from her Daddy.

She also has been playing War or Battle (depending on where you live and what you call it) every night with Todd. I had to teach them how 3 people could play. She still does not like loosing. She is getting a lot better at it, she stopped crying and she doesn't throw the cards anymore. She just tries to quite and we won't letter her. I wonder where she got that from her daddy.
We also got a new game Old Maid. She did not like loosing that either. Mackenzie's thinking is I'll set up the card ahead of time and lets just say she cheats and even cheating she still looses. She likes to keep all the ACES or she will give herself 2 and everyone else one. So right now we are teaching her it is okay to loose. She is so much like her daddy when it comes to winning.

Diving for Rings

This is Mackenzie diving for ring in the 6 feet of water all by herself, she has learned how to kick hard enough to make herself go down. She doesn't need us helping her by pushing her down. She loves swimming so much. I don't know what we are going to do when the pool gets cold, knowing her she will be swimming as long as she can.

Mommies Little Helper

While I was cleaning the house, Mackenzie has been wanting to help with the house cleaning, I hope it last. We have a little vacuum that she will use to vacuum the kitchen and the hallway, yes it really does work it is not a play vacuum. After she vacuum she told me she had to lay down and rest because this was a lot of hard work and she was tired. I told her I know. While she was resting she watched tv and had a glass of lemonade. An hour later she comes back to help with the mopping. She likes using the swiffer. She will wet a spot then mop and then she ask can I give it a little squirt again. So now I have someone to help me clean, now if she would only clean her playroom with out me having to tell her.

Secret Mission

While I was fixing dinner the other night, Mackenzie was on a secret mission and me not paying to much attention let her keep playing. I could hear her in the background playing and talking to her stuffed animals. Which she does often and if I try to talk to her she stops so I did not want to bother her because she was playing and having so much fun. When I came around the corner I found her in the hall closet, I did not know she was in there, and of all the places for her to play she picks the smallest spot in the whole entire room. She does have to 2 big playrooms that she can play in, but I guess when you are on a secret mission you have to be very quite and stay out of site as much as possible.

Games We Play!!!

Mackenzie likes playing card games usually go fish, since that is all she knows. Well last night her daddy decided to teach her a new card game called War (the person with the larger number wins the cards)and I think 52 pick up. So this morning Mackenzie wakes grabs her cards and ask me if I want to play WARTHOG! I said, what game did daddy teach you, she said WARTHOG! I told her I did not know that game so she explained how the person with a 9 wins and the other person has a 5. So I knew she was talking about WAR or were I come from we call it Battle.

Another new game at our house. The Chicken Game!!
The other night we had chicken for dinner and Todd took out the wishbone. So he asked Mackenzie if she wanted to pull it apart and make a wish. Mackenzie got the bigger half. A couple of days later Mackenzie comes to me and ask if we can play the chicken game. I said we don't have a chicken game, she said yea you know the game I played with daddy, how you pull the bone apart and see who wins.

What games do you play at your house. Who knows what new game we will come up with next.

Flower Girl

We just got back from California and we had a great time. Mackenzie was a flower girl in her Grandpa Walt's wedding. She was not to sure about being a flower girl or if she liked the sand that took us a while to get use to. She did finally decided to be a flower girl and did a great job. The wedding was on the beach so afterward Mackenzie along with her cousins Alyssa and Jordan played in the sand. I think they had fun.

How many are to many

One can not have to many pretties. Mackenzie has been wanting to do her own hair for the past couple of days. If she is not doing her hair she is doing her bears, her dolls and even my hair. We won't leave the house with all of them in and you should see the bear who has no hair with pretties in it, it looks pretty funny. I don't know how she gets them in there, I will have to get a picture next time she does.

Birthday Girl's Special Day

Turning 4 is not so bad. Mackenzie wanted to go to Red Robin for her special day, so we went to Red Robin to eat. I told the waiter that is was her birthday. I am not sure if she was embarrassed or surprised that all the waiters came out to sing Happy Birthday. After eating at Red Robin we came home and had a Leaps Frozen Custard Birthday Cake. I think she had a good birthday. Next week we go to Disney and have Breakfast with Minnie Mouse.

I think I can swim!

Mackenzie at swim lesson with teacher Natascha. Mackenzie has come a long way. After only a few swimming lessons she has progressed so much, she still is a little scared and does not want me to help or make her swim in our pool. But today at the gym pool she was trying her best to swim from one side of the pool to the other. I think she likes knowing that she can touch the bottom of the pool when she wants to, that is the big question that I get asked. Is it over my shoulders and I can I touch the bottom. Until she is ready for me to help her I will leave her alone.
